holy week getaway
Today is Holy Thursday. Some people are on a religious retreat. Some are visiting pilgrims. Some are doing the way of the cross. Some are simply home enjoying the rest day. While some are out visiting other places. Last year, i was one of these people who went for a getaway.
Together with my friend and some officemates, we headed to Bantayan Island. This place is especially famous during this time of the year. It was a tiring, exhausting trip (especially getting a ride) but nevertheless it was fun and relaxing when we get there.

I could not locate the photos we had for that trip so i’m posting instead some photos i had when we get there last 2007.
i kicked off summer in Negros
So, the conclusion to my previous post? I did not join the island hopping. I wasn’t in the mood for another getaway and i wasn’t feeling good. Bummer i know.
And the trip to Negros i told you about? Here’s a snapshot of me.

Watch out for more photos soon…
island hopping (again?)
I haven’t posted much photos yet from our island hopping last year during when an expat from Spain arrived and that another island hopping we had last December for our Christmas section party and here I am contemplating whether or not to join another island hopping this Saturday. LOL!
I still look dark and dingy from the trip to Negros even though I really did not spend much time on the beach. I am just like that. An hour under the sun would result to looking like I’ve been out all week frolicking.
So, there are two expats from Spain office again and to show off the natural wonders and beaches of this side of the archipelago, island hopping here we (they) go again.
I don’t know if I’m joining or not… we’ll just see. Anyway, I’m sure there will be another island hopping/getaway coming soon as there will be another expat coming in next month (or so).
If anything… happy summer everyone! I think it’s officially summer time. Is it?
Hinobaan it is!
I wasn’t decided yet whether to go to Negros again or not. First, I already have scheduled my leaves for the entire year. Meaning I no longer have paid leaves to avail of. Second, it’s going to be a long land trip and travelling alone wouldn’t be as fun.
But Glorie came home and Madame Phoebe met us. Spur of the moment, I decided, let’s go and conquer Negros again! It’s summer anyway! What better way to kick it off than a trip down to another island in the Visayas region.
Long land trip indeed and the boat ride were horrendous. But when I think about the times and bonding moments with friends you don’t get to see often, it’s all worth it.
Will post more about my second trip to Hinobaan later…
i’m booked!
So my friends at work had booked our flights to the South in June and to the North in August. Wont spoil the surprise so the exact names of the places will not be revealed not until we’re there.
We might as well be booking for another trip in October, just somewhere in the Visayas. Now think of festivity in October and you might just guess where we are heading. Haha!
Thanks to some airlines offering low fares, poor Juans and Juanas can now see the rest of the country and the rest of the world even.
imagining Palawan
Some of my coworkers are on leave today. They’re vacationing in one of the nicest places of the Philippines – Palawan. I have been there but i’m still envious. I’m jealous that they get to have a fun weekend under the sun.
So here i am just imagining the prestine white beaches and picturesque views. It’s almost two years since i was there but i can still feel the warmth of the nice unexploited beaches. So worth the long trip!
I will be there again, one of these days. There’s still so much to explore and experience.
To my coworkers, i hope they’ll have fun and realize even more how beautiful our country is.
excited for April 2011
My cousins just arrived home. One of them is having a company outing (team building) and so the younger sister joined. Generous company for they allow relatives to come along.
They went to a resort somewhere in the South of Cebu and they definitely had a good time because they were too giddy while they told us the getway experience.
Our mothers upon hearing their stories are convinced they would like to see the place too — in April. So, if the weather cooperates, we are going there in April!
Woohooo!!! This is by far what i can tell, April is going to be an exciting month!
